I'm more of a hobbyist musician. I play several instrument, but mostly guitar. I've been looking for a versatile bass for laying down tracks and to just have around my home studio. A kind of all purpose, get it done kid of thing, but not have all my bass tracks sound the same as I do lots of sound experimentation. The Variax bass seems to be perfect for my purpose. I would buy one right now if they were like the James Tyler version guitars with workbench support and modern styling.
