I have a pristine condition JTV 59 in black that I am looking to sell. I bought it new in 2012 and it plays absolutely amazing. I'm only selling because it's a bit too heavy for me and I simply just don't use the features. Ultimately, I would like to get $700 for it, but would consider any serious offers. :) I will update this post with photos this evening.

I have seen a couple posts regarding the possibility of a Graphtec Floyd Rose on a JTV 59. After much work and frustration I have successfully achieved the transplant. Being that my main guitar is a Les Paul with a Floyd I found my JTV 59 not getting the playing time it deserved. To be clear I DO NOT recommend attempting this transplant for the novice..... Without woodworking experience and the proper tools it can be a catastrophic failure. I have done many tremelo retrofits and a couple Variax transplants and even with that experience I was very hesitant to route away my $1500 guitar. One wrong route and it's game over. The most frustrating part was the wiring, by adding the floating bridge and springs, the added noise caused the 12 string and alt tunings to pickup extra notes and be terribly wonky and warbly. At first I thought it may have been the bridge but after some rewiring and taming of the spring noise (by adding some foam in the trem cavity and under the piezo wires) it works great! With the graphtec nut and addition of Schaller locking tuners a locking nut is most likely not required.

I found this great YouTube lesson by Don Felder of The Eagles. It's in a couple of parts, but he walks you through how to play "Hotel California", including the fantastic outro solo. I know some have a "No Hotel California Rule", but I that's like telling me I can't play "Brown Sugar" while in Open G! There are a couple of other vids of Don on YouTube playing the song live with a monstrous double-neck SG, but for those of us with a JTV, It's far easier to switch between 12 and 6 strings! Have fun! Hi! Did anyone else ever get problems with stings breaking on the saddles of a JTV 59? Mine use to, what is really annoying. I already tried pulling an old bass string over the saddles to get rid of burrs. Is it normal that the strings dig a visible sluice into the saddles? Would you dare to carefully grind on the saddles with the piezos underneath? Thank you and best regards

I havemy variax plugged into my POD 500 then through L6 link from the POD 500 into the DT50. i have sound through all of the presets on the POD 500 but cannot get the models to work in the variax guitar. i am wired into the POD 500 with the variax cable, the POD 500 is set to variax and will give sound from presets but no modeling from the guitar itself..battery is at full charge..... I have been in the work bench conected to the POD 500 still nothing as far as modeling from the variax..BUT if i take the variax guitar out of the POD 500 and wire it into the computer through the variax hub that comes with the guitar i have modeling !!! what am i doing wrong??????????
