I am wondering if I can midi synch with the M5 Stompbox Modeler? I want to use the delay but rather than tapping the tempo, or using the tempo adjust, i want to have the stompbox automatically synch with my Boss RC-50 loop pedal. I know for a fact you can do this with Strymon Big Sky Reverb for instance. Has anyone tried this? Thanks

And also question - is there a way how i can program the buttons so that if I press it it changes to preset that i want and when I press it again it turns off the effect? Same like Line 6 M9 works, except i would be able to run 1 effect at a time only. Thanks for answer, I dont understand midi.

i have two m5 in line. the relevant midi program change signal comes from my effect looper pedal and goes to the midi in of the first m5. the midi out from the first m5 goes to midi in of the second. when i step on the looper, the first m5 gets the signal and changes his preset. but the second m5 does nothing (because the program change message is not thru). here i want the second m5 to change his preset too. ( when i step the first m5 to change the preset, everything is fine, the second m5 reacts as expected and changes his preset too. it is also possible to make a sync tap on the fist m5 and the second m5 synchronizes ). to solve my problem, one idea is to use a thru box after the looper and then merge the signal from the loopers thru and the out of the first m5 into the second m5's in. but this solution costs between 140 and 300 euro. is there a cheaper or more simple way to do what i want to do? greez & thanx

I just got a Boss Es-5 since it could control patch selection via midi. However, no matter what I do, I cannot seem to get a program to change on the M5. In troubleshooting, I've tested the midi out works as I've backed up my patches in a sysex file. However, when I load the file using midi-ox, it shows it loads but nothing shows on the M5 to indicate it is receiving and when I power off/on, I don't see my restored patches (I did a factory reset after backing up). I've hooked another midi controlled device up to the midi out of the M5 (and to the in of the other pedal) and when I change patches in the M5, it changes patches 1-24 of the slave device. So, midi out is working fine (I think). I've also tested the ES-5 and found it can control a Boss ME-5 and Digitech Whammy DT without any issues. For some reason, I just can't make it control the M5. I've also tried numerous cables. I feel like I'm overlooking something simple, or... my unit is defective. Any advice or thoughts appreciated.
