I'm trying to connect my new JTV-69 variax and while the computer sees the Variax USB adapter, and the USB adapter indicates (via the two green lights) that it sees the Variax, the computer doesn't see the Variax. I've tried multiple computers and versions of the software. As far as the computer is concerned, there's no Variax there. Up front: I am using the small black Variax USB adapter and included VDI cable The battery is fully charged (though by the end of troubleshooting it only had 3 dots) I have a TRS cable plugged in I have the volume turned up The lights are on on the Variax I have two lights on the Variax USB adapter I have tried both the included VDI cable and 2 separate Cat5/Cat6 cables I have checked with Line6 Monkey on a separate computer using all of the combinations of troubleshooting I have checked with the OLD Workbench on a separate computer I have repeatedly connected / restarted / removed battery; replaced battery I have wiggled and jiggled and swabbed and double-checked all the connectors. Everything is in-place. The Variax doesn't show up, not even in Monkey. I'm really not looking forward to returning this guitar, but the inability to use it with Workbench is a deal-breaker.

Hi guys, Two days ago I bought a jtv 89-f, and I am loving it. But yesterday I tried to connect it to my macbook pro using the variax usb interface and de vdi cable. The connectios that I made were 1)jtv-89f -> variax usb interface using the vdi cable, 2)variax usb interface -> macbook pro 3)Put a battery and a 1/4 jack on the variax, so I could power on the jtv-89f, on the module knob, and raised the volume(someone said that this denies the variax to go to sleep ) The thing is, I can`t use monkey to connect to the guitar, but worst I can`t have any sort of light indicators on the variax usb interface. I read that some guys when have problems at least have a red light indicator, mine are always off. I have the latest release of monkey, installed workbench and workbench hd using the monkey, and installed the usb driver using the line 6 download support because the monkey doesn`t recognise the usb interface. I tried different usb ports and different computers and the lights of the Variax usb interface are always off. I even register my jtv on line 6. Any iddeas? Am I doing something wrong? Or maybe the usb interface is "broken". Thanks in advance ;)

I own Variax Acoustic, JTV59, and just acquired a Variax Bass from eBay. The Variax Acoustic and JTV59 can connect to Line 6 Monkey via my POD HD500. I have also used the USB interface to connect the JTV59, and if I recall correctly, it is required for Workbench HD. The Variax Bass is not detected by Line 6 Monkey via the POD HD500 or the USB interface that came with the JTV59. Is there an interface to update the Variax Bass (and connect to either version of Workbench), or was the bass discontinued before the online connections were implemented? Don't want to keep chasing my tail if there is no way to connect the bass to my Mac ;-) (btw, sorry if this has already been covered; appears that there have not been any Variax Bass topics since ~2007.)
