yaronnir
Hi, i've downloaded some really nice custome tones from line6 site. problem is they all come with different volume level, so when i switch from tone to tone i need to play with the master volume any pointers on how to create a unified volume across several tones? thanks in advanced
Brazzy
Sounds like your going to have tweak them. Maybe try adjusting the amp volume, volume pedals, compressors, mixer levels, Do each of them just a little or just trial and error until your happy.
alienux
Some of the aspects of volume are saved with the patch, so with tones on custom tone, there's no way to get all of them to level out when you import. One that I find varies quite a bit, that also causes a big difference in volume, is centering the mixer. The default has everything panned, but some people like to center both channels in their patches, and this adds quite a bit of volume. If you adjust the volume settings of the amp and any effects in the patch, and adjust the mixer to the way you want it, then save the patch, you won't have to keep messing with the master volume after that initial save.
FlyingSquirrel
Even when creating your own custom tones, you're never going to know if the volume between each preset is consistent with each other until you either rehearse with your band, or play each preset against backing tracks from your DAW or other playback device.I create all of my presets this way, and then finalize the volume of each the same way, that way when I go to change between presets, or select an effect on/off or solo boost on/off within a preset, that it mirrors the consistent volume of the recorded tracks. To expect that any preset downloaded or exchanged will come with the volume levels exactly where you want them is an unrealistic expectation. There may be exceptions to where they come exactly as you need them, but it is rare. You have to realize that each person created their presets with their instruments in there own environment according to their own application. When exchanged between parties, some personalization will be necessary.
TheRealZap
leave the master volume alone! i'd set it at about 2 o'clock and make my adjustments. this give you room to go higher and lower... "overall" set the regular volume and save the tone.... some you will turn up and some you will turn down... doing it this way will ultimately have the master volume adjust all tones at one time (relative to where you saved them) this will make switching between them much easier... the mix of volumes that you are hearing is because people don't know things like this... but also because their environments and requirements are different.
yaronnir
basically no magic solution :( i will have to work through each and every tone (and i have a lot) and adjust its sound .....

TheRealZap
correct but really not that hard.... just record a loop in pre mode... and play that while following what i posted a minute ago... then just switch presets, adjust channel volume, save... switch preset, start over.... basically no magic solution :( i will have to work through each and every tone (and i have a lot) and adjust its sound ..... Leave yourself some range to work within. Leave your Master at that 2 o clock & only adjust the preset volume if the preset volume is the only thing keeping you from consistent volume from preset to preset.
