harv052
Good day all, I'm kinda new to this amp+cab business so i'm looking for a bit of help. My question is, can I run the POD straight to a cab, like the Spider 412 for example, or does it absolutely need to run through a head first? I'm trying to shop around but I'm not having any luck finding information about this. Any help with this is greatly appreciated! Btw, can't wait for that 2.6 firmware! POD has no power section, so you need something else to drive a cabinet. Either a dedicated power amp, or a head, preferably with an FX loop so you bypass the head's preamp. pianoguyy
You cannot run a cab. We say 'you can go straight to a PA' but technically that is wrong too. Because you can't power a PA either.
cdkane01
I recently added a ehx magnum 44 to my podhd rig which powers a 4x12 easily.
harv052
Thanks a lot for all your answers! I went ahead and bought a DT25 head with a half cab... Sounds freakin' amazing!
pianoguyy
I recently added a ehx magnum 44 to my podhd rig which powers a 4x12 easily. Sure, it powers a 412, that's because its a power amp. That is not the same as going straight to a cab from the pod.
cdkane01
Correct, was more of a suggestion as the OP asked if you absolutely need a head to run it into a cab. No you don't, just a poweramp will do :-)
