LibertyA
This started on stage, on the road in Denver 3 nights ago at the Grizzly Rose. Any ideas about whats going on??? I'm taking it to the tech today to open it up. http://http://i1162.photobucket.com/albums/q521/iplaytheaxe/th_HD500X%20not%20working_zpscgdepykb.mp4
zaphodboy
You could try a hard reset. Press and hold the left arrow whilst plugging in the power cable. Other than that try a reflash of the FW. Good luck!
LibertyA
I took it to the tech and 3 of the button are trashed inside to board. :(
LibertyA
I'm extremely disappointed. I ended up having to pay out-of-pocket $150 (it is still under warrant) to have the foot controller repaired because none of the referrals by Line 6 for repair shops could have it done for the shows this weekend. It turns out that the buttons are faulty underneath the housing and had become depressed and broken, to the point where they wouldn't respond. I'm also now under the impression from the tech that this is a common occurrence with Line 6 products/HD500X. I AM VERY UN-HAPPY!!!
zaphodboy
That's a real shame. Any common faults are generally reported on the forums (like the L2 rattle). I haven't seen any posts complaining of this problem before so I can't imagine it's a common fault. Once it's fixed it should be fine for the life of the unit....if that's any consolation. LibertyA
I'm Hoping that the repair will hold up. Because of this I will now need a programed backup HD500X. I can never have that happen on stage ever again!!! It's one thing if it's a stomp box, but NOT ok if it is the brain of your system/DreamRig dies completely. Matt_Brown
Yes, Dream Rig is fine when it works! I've had probs with the footswitch lights & the dealer here (Andertons - I will never use them again) was at 1st very helpful then said "oh we can't fix that". It made me realise how dependent we are on the components. OK, I have a spare guitar, but if the POD goes down? I've ended up buying a cheap A/B switch that I now keep in my bag so at least I can go from clean to dirty if it does! at"
