Dougal1709
I'm starting one of these open mic things in my local. I was hoping to save my self my equipment grief by taking my Pod HD Desktop, plugging in a guitar into the guitar line in set to input 1 and a mic into the XLR mic input set to input 2. What I was wondering was if I want to add a bit of reverb to the vocals, will this also affect the guitar signal in the other input or can I set up the effects loop across 2 streams to have different effects on each source at the same time say a bit of reverb on the vocals and a bit of chorus on the guitar? One post earlier said that any effects will change both signlas but another said you can set up the effects chain to have different effects on each input. Which is it? edstar1960
You can set up the HD to have two totally separate paths from INPUT to OUTPUT or you can choose to merge/share fx on the PRE split path or the POST mixer path. So the answer is YES - you can have a totally different path for your GUITAR on INPUT 1 and your MIC on INPUT 2. You simply place the guitar only fx in PATH A, and the vocal only fx in PATH B, and set the mixer block to pan hard LEFT for the path A and hard RIGHT for path B, then you have GUITAR on OUTPUT L and MIC On OUTPUT R. Dougal1709
Excellent. Thanks very much for that. I will consult the instructions.
silverhead
Here is a preset designed for simultaneous guitar and vocals with separate processing for each. You can customize the FX selections and placement, but keep the two paths completely separate; don't place an FX before the path split. http://line6.com/customtone/tone/215659/
