davelees
Hi guys, Haven't plugged in the POD HD500 into my PC using USB for a while, when I tried and ran the Edit application and it didn't detect the POD so I ran MOnkey and dowloaded and installed new drivers etc and then rebooted ... now I can hear anything on PC when connecting using USB ... any ideas? phil_m
You won't hear audio through your PC's speakers when you connect the HD500. The HD500 becomes your system's soundcard when you connect with USB. So if you want to hear the audio you either need to connect headphones to the HD500 or connect your speakers to the HD500's output(s) in some way.

jkdmoore
oh well that's useful? why plug into a PC then?
TheRealZap
not sure what you mean... but if you're asking this question then you are not understanding something.... the pod becomes your soundcard... a good soundcard.... you simply plug the speakers into it and the whole thing works like your existing soundcard... only better quality for recording than a standard computer soundcard.... that and you can also edit tones, backup tones, download and share tones by connecting to a PC. oh well that's useful? why plug into a PC then? Totally. It can get a little tricky trying to do both but whenever I'm tweaking my presets for playing with the band I have it plugged into both, the PC and my amp and cabs. I have to run something like Reaper in order to hear it through my amp and cabs though, but sooo much easier tweaking through the HD500 Edit software, well worth the hassle. It's really the only way you know for sure how your presets are actually going to sound through your rig live and not get to rehearsal or worse yet a gig with a bunch of BIG surprises lol
