PiFromBRC
I'm using the HD500 slaved through the Helix in order to maintain some DSP integrity. I've got the signal flow through, but when I switch back to the preset it sets the HD to Dual Tones 1C. I have to manually turn the HD to the sixth bank, preset 4C My settings are as follows: Helix: 01C Global: MIDI Base Channel 1 MIDI Thru: On MIDI Over USB: On (but I don't think it makes a difference) MIDI PC S/R: On Tempo Select: Per Preset Preset BPM: xxx (doesn't matter) Command Center: Instant 1: Command: Bank/Prog MIDI Channel: 1 Bank CC00: 5 (for my sixth User bank, or second column, third down User bank on the HD) Bank CC32: 14 (for preset 4C on the HD) Program: Off (no idea what this setting is for) Footswitch 11 (where I have the toggle) Command: CC Toggle MIDI Channel: 1 CC Channel: 52 (per the HD's MIDI Control reference for the HD's FS2) Dim Value: 0 Lit Value: 127 I'm sure I'm missing something obvious to the MIDI Gods out there, but so far have not been able to figure it out. Does somebody have an idea what I'm missing here? Thanks!
phil_m
If you have the MIDI PC S/R setting set to "on" on the Helix, it will automatically send whatever PC message is assigned to the particular preset your bring up. That's why your HD500 is going to that preset when you load the preset on the Helix. Turn that off. As far as the instant commands on the Helix, you don't really need to worry about sending bank commands unless you're using patches from different setlists on the HD500. If you are, than you will have to set it accordingly. But you wouldn't set two of them. You need set the proper bank message, and then you need to set the PC (the program change message) to be the correct PC#.
