arislaf
Hallo everybody, I hope for some help here... I have a variax 700 blue trem, with the latest firmware, graphtech piezos, and elixir 10's strings. Suddenly (after instaling the new strings) I notice that the acoustic models have a strange buzz, like a fret buzz.... am not sure what is going, and at the electric models doesn't appear this buzz.. Please help!
ozbadman
On all strings, or just one particular string?
arislaf
On all strings, or just one particular string? On all strings. Also, when i changed to graph tech, i already reduce the string volume through the workbench.
ozbadman
If it's all strings I can't think of a reason. Sorry. Good luck.
McLenison
I just got the JTV-89 and I notice buzz on the E, A, and D strings on the acoustic models. I changed to 11's and eq'd the high end and it helped. Fingerpicking seems ok, but slashing a chord still has some buzz.. Update: I adjusted the neck, loosening the truss rod 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn. That fixed it.
arislaf
I will try it out asap.Thank you!
arislaf
I notice that the nut was misplaced...After I stick it up with some silicon glue, the buzz reduced very much but not at all..I adjust the neck as you suggest with no result.. I really don't know... :(
Charlie_Watt
If it started with a string change, it has to be a setup issue.

Have you tried adjusting the string volume in workbench some more? Individual string volume, that is. The acoustic sounds are probably the closest sound you'll get to the raw piezo input. Is there any buzzing when you listen to the strings directly without plugging in your guitar?
arislaf
Yes, I adjust the string volume individual through the workbench to 60 % about...There is no buzzing when the guitar is unplugged.

Charlie_Watt
Have you tried new strings and a setup? My acoustics sound great on my 69S. I use them more than any other models. Electronics may fail but they don't wear out. Acoustic models require a good full range amp / speaker system to sound good.
