Smashcraaft
What exactly happens when variax is running out of battery power? Are there various stages of dying like hum, feedback and lower volume or does it die suddenly. As the older 300-700 have no battery-indicator it would be good to know, just to sort out things correctly.
phil_m
The guitar just shuts off. There's not any signs of a low battery. Sometimes after the first time it shuts off, there will be enough voltage in the batteries to cycle the power on for a few more minutes, but basically, once it's dead, it's dead.
Charlie_Watt
To protect the Lithium battery used in the JTV, the battery monitor in the battery box will shut it down when it reaches a critical voltage. The older Variax just stopped working when the battery got too low. (at least that is what my 500 does)
Smashcraaft
Thanks. Good to hear that it is dying a sudden death, without groaning and moaning before that :)
