bdplaid
I read in the manual that the Relay G10 has Cable Tone built in. I like the convenience of the unit, but it dulls my bass tone, especially in the mids. Is the cable Tone defeatable in the G10? Edit: I misstated, the Cable Tone reference is on their webpage, not in the manual. http://line6.com/relay/g10
Smashcraaft
Built in Cable Tone? I should have RTFM. Onto which chapter or page are you referring?

njglover
Yes, use the XLR out. Manual states (I think it's the manual) that the XLR out is uncolored.
MusicLaw
Yes, use the XLR out. Manual states (I think it's the manual) that the XLR out is uncolored.Where do you see that the XLR is Cable Tone free? Please provide a link to that resource reference. The only manual I know of is the very brief G10 Pilot Guide (rev b) which is very brief and makes no mention of Cable Tone. The G10's product marketing materials do mention Cable Tone, but nothing about the XLR output bypassing Cable Tone.
njglover
Ah, sorry, it was in the FAQ, not the manual: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/live-sound/relay-digital-wireless/relay-g10-faq-r808
Smashcraaft
Can anyone please measure or record the difference between the full-range XLR-signal and the 1/4 cable-sim? Is there a significant difference in tone?
njglover
It's not going to be significant, but it will be a slight roll off in the higher frequencies. If you've been using cables prior to this, it should be roughly what you've been used to hearing. The G10 into my Helix is nearly identical to using my 12-foot Mogami Platinum cable into the Helix. And by nearly I mean if you blindfolded me and asked me to pick one I couldn't.
