ginster
Hi Can I leave the battery in the Veraiax JTV plugged in when using the Line6 Variax Cabled Power Kit for supplying power? Or can it damage something? Thanks for an answer. ginster
psarkissian
Take the battery out. TRS cable engaging the battery AND using the XPS power system would result in a voltage doubling that can damage something.
Englishman
Wow, really? Doubled? Shouldn't it come with a big red warning sticker on the battery box?
Charlie_Watt
BS! There is no way you would get voltage doubling. The higher voltage will provide the power. There is noting in the Variax docs that says take the battery out when not using it! psarkissian
There's a risk of damage to some components. Regulation circuit won't like that over time. They will get stressed over time. Â When you plug in the TRS, the battery is engaged. Together with the XPS,... not a good idea.
shawnmx
I assume that this doesn't hold true when connecting a Variax to a Helix over VDI, as that's a different connection for the guitar?
psarkissian
Correct.
