darrylhebert
I use a Helix for my guitar setup. Love it...no amp on stage. I'm mainly a keys player, and I just picked up a Moog Voyager XL, which has NO on board effects. I'd like to purchase a second Helix for it. The Moog output is stereo, can I create one effects path connected to two inputs? I'm thinking that the left and right channels would have to be "guitar in" and "aux" respectively. Any ideas to keep the stereo separation correct? I don't think the above setup will keep the paths correct. The Helix is great at taking a mono signal, running through stereo effects and outputting a stereo image. However I need stereo in, adding effects to the stereo image, and outputting stereo. spikey
Why not aux in left and right and then just use a dummy plug for the guitar in jack? Wouldn't that work guys? It does on my Vetta amp...
bsd512
You could set the Path input to Return 1/2 for stereo in, and plug your Moog L/R into Return 1/2. Add effects blocks and signal routing as normal. Or you could separate the paths if you wanted to do that - Path A fed by Return 1 and Path B fed by Return 2, for example. I'm not sure that would gain anything over stereo in on a single path as above. In both cases you wouldn't be using the actual guitar-in or aux-in. darrylhebert
Thanks Iknowathingortwo, that sounds like it will work; and I might not have to purchase another Helix. I likely won't be playing the Moog and guitar at the same time; although I play plenty of songs switching between my Kronos and guitar. Digital_Igloo
Also note that you don't have to use an entire DSP for your Moog. Helix's 4 signal paths can be applied to whatever you want. 8 TEMPLATES > 04B Gtr+Vox+Bas+Keys has an entire band running through a single Helix. If you want, Paths 1A, 1B, and 2A could be dedicated for your guitar, and 2B for the Moog. My band processes 6 sources (2x guitars, bass, vocal sends, keys, and tracks) with two Helix Racks. Admittedly, it's more like 4 or 5 at a time, but still...
