Help with Snapshot effects switching

I recently got the Helix board and this morning updated to the new 2.20 firmware and trying to delve into snapshots.  Given how easy the rest of this unit is to figure out, I must say, this has been a day filled with frustrations.  I took me a while to figure out some things just can't be done from the Editor.  But I eventually figured out how to control some settings globally and how to single them out for individual snapshots.  I'm trying to set it up so the bottom switches to change snapshots and the top switches are stomp boxes for the effects in the snapshot.  But now, after setting up a couple of snapshots, I can't get the stomp boxes to active the effects.  I've assigned them on the board.  Double checked that each effect is assigned in the editor.  But stepping on the switch does not activate the effect.  (Stepping on the lower switches does change the snapshot though).

What am I doing wrong??

Other than this, I've been enjoying the heck out of this thing.

I might have part of this sorted out.  Am I correct in this: Bypass assign is how you assign the foot switch to turn the effects on and off?  Vs Controller assign which determines which foot switch controls the parameters?

Is there a way in the Editor to make a parameter apply only to the selected snapshot as opposed to the preset?  I can't seem to figure out how to do that.  Any changes in the editor seem to be global changes unless I push/turn that parameter on the floor board first.

Yep... Go to the Controllers tab and select "Snapshot" from the pulldown menu. Or, on Windows machine, press ALT and click on the parameter as a shortcut to assign it to a snapshot controller (SHIFT - ALT - Click unassigns it). On a Mac, it's OPTION - click to assing, OPTION-SHIFT - click to unassign. Brackets will appear around the parameter when it's assigned to a controller.
