Helix preset buttons suddenly died before a show

Hi all, my first post here, and I'd appreciate it if you guys can help me out. My Helix suddenly lost control and scribble script to the bottom 4 buttons usually displaying the presets in a stomp/preset setting (preset at bottom row) died, no preset names in the scribble script and no footswitches color ring, nothing happens when I press the buttons either, everything else works.. we were about to do a show and this thankfully happened in soundcheck, I didn't know what to do and I finally had to ditch the Helix and use the house amp. That kinda sucked.. when I got into the global settings footswitches editor, and turned the preset mode switches knob, nothing happens to the actual footswitches, which to me seems like something is wrong with the machine. Is this a problem or just something stupid I did? Thanks guys! p.s. Long time Line6 user, starting from X3.. I'm probably one of the few gigging with Line 6 products where I am, which is Hong Kong. Thanks again!

It sounds like perhaps you hit the Mode footswitch and are actually in Stomp Mode. If you don't have anything assigned to those switches in Stomp Mode, the scribble strips will be blanks, and the LED rings around the footswitches will remain dark.

Thats what I was going to suggest. Hit the Mode footswitch again.

Yep, if you hit the mode foot switch, it will change it to stompbox mode and display only stomps that you have programmed. The reason the bottom row was blank is because those normally display presets and you didn't have stomps programmed into those. Hit the mode switch one more time with your foot, and good to go.
