Helix LT freezing up problem.

Hello.

I recently purchased a Helix LT and i am having issues with it.

When i purchased it,it already had the latest firmware version, and after some time of playing, just started to freeze up and sometimes show the  ''boot falure, entered update mode'' with -33 in the top corner.

When i go trough the factory presets, after a moment they stop to work and the helix freezes up.

I tried to re update the latest firmware version , and also to downgrade to 2.20 but the issue is still present..

If you could help in any way,to resolve this issue,i would greatly appreciate.

Thank you for the response.

Does it freeze up when you are scrolling through the factory presets very quickly? Mine does that sometimes too (Helix Floor, 2.21). I think the unit freaks out because every time you scroll, it is loading a preset. When you spin the dial really quickly, sometimes it freezes. That's my experience with it anyway.

I too have encountered this on a regular basis. Both using the Presets Knob, and using the Joystick to select from amongst, for instance, Amps or Cabs from the Block Models list. The interruption is momentary and resolves when retrying the encoder.

I submitted this on a Support Ticket to Line 6 in late November or December, so they are aware of it -- at least once.

This symptom is more of an annoyance than a show stopper. It seems to be more of a scenario where some of the increment/decrement pulses generated by either encoder knob (Presets or Joystick) are not properly being read and handled by the firmware. This strikes me as more of a coding optimization issue than a hardware problem, and perhaps a consequence of the current Series 2 firmware (presently at 2.21). Hopefully this will be solved in an upcoming firmware release.

The far more serious boot failure error repored by the OP, thankfully, I have not enountered.

It does freeze up,tho, its not even from going trough quickly...

Eventually its just, after a while,it freezes completely.. recently, the sound just cuts out after few minutes, and also there is this crazy frequency noise, just high pich, really painfull.

Yesterday i was trying to play with my headphones, and almost blew my ears...

I think my Helix device is defective or something.
