HeathanzSinz
Hi There, Sorry in advance if this is was posted many times or not. I have a POD HD500X and I connect via USB cable to my PC to record. When I open my DAW, I hear this tiny squeal sound, very high pitched. I tried hooking up my POD to a mixer, then to my UR12, then to PC and unhook the POD, no squeal. As soon as I plug in the POD again, I get the squeal back. I would rather plug the POD directly into my PC instead of the other route, but I am for now until I figure out the issue. I have turned off all other audio devices in windows to make sure there was no conflict. Same issue. Any suggestions?
rd2rk
Disconnect the other interface when using the Helix via USB, and connect your speakers to the Helix. That fixed it for me.
pfsmith0
I get a 60 cycle hum when I plug in the USB due to ground loops. You'll have to figure out if your problem is a ground loop problem or an audio feedback path problem within your DAW/OS. Ground loop: unplug your guitar. Leave no instruments plugged into it. Unplug everything else except AC power and USB cable. Go into the HD Edit software and reduce mixer gain to minimum. Squeal still there? Plug Pod into same outlet as PC to see if it changes. Audio feedback: do you hear the squeal when the DAW is not invoked - with just the OS audio playback/recording devices & mixer engaged? If not, then you'll need to mess with your DAW's audio routing.
