line-6-user
What is an acceptable repair time length on an Helix? After 1 week waiting I thought I would ask its status and was told that the repair centre didn't have the time to look at it yet as they are too busy. Now it's been 2 weeks and I still have no news what is happening. Authorised Line 6 Service Centres are not specific to Line 6 products and undertake work from other brands and from private individuals. I understand that and I accept the situation. I an not made of money and I can't afford a second unit for a backup; yes I do have other amps but these are no match for the versatility and customised preset that work with the JTV guitar. The set list would need a radical change... What are your experiences in this matter and what is Line 6 policy?
cruisinon2
What are your experiences in this matter and what is Line 6 policy? My experience with such facilities? Mostly soul crushing...L6's in house warranty repair team on the other hand, is very good and treated me quite fairly after a thoroughly useless month-long encounter with my local "authorized service center". Though convenient and all of about 7 minutes away, the first place I took it gave me back an allegedly "fixed" unit which still had the exact same problem (the infamous "fan rattle" on an L2T - now resolved and working fine after a second repair back at the mother ship). In retrospect, I wonder if they actually did anything at all the first time around...hard to say. But after a trip back to L6 (on their dime), I've had no problems. The technical term for what you are experiencing is "warranty repair don'tgivea$hititis". Shops like the one you describe do warranty jobs reluctantly, and mostly because they have no choice...but the truth is there isn't much money in it for them, and thus the paying customers tend to get priority. It sucks, but this is often how it works.

Nothing we can do trying to repairing it ourselves with a soldering iron. :)
