boynigel
If I'm running my Helix, minus cabinet sims, into the front of my tube amp should my output be set to line or instrument? Will there be any sound difference between the two? I'm on the road and won't have access to it for a few days so thought I'd ask.

MusicLaw
Helix Instrument level output configuration would be the normal setting intended to feed a tube amp's front end (Instrument input). Nonetheless, so long as you were to begin with your tube amp's gain setting low, you could explore configuring your Helix output to Line Level. Helix's output signal voltage would be higher hitting the front of your Tube amp. So long as you are aware of this, you may discover that this hotter incoming signal level may yield some interesting tones. Start with your amp's gain setting low and bring it up gradually to see how it plays. You may find some usable results. YMMV.
