oehman
I saw a post that outlined how to set the HD500 so that you could use the tone knob on JTV-59 to do a dive bomb whammy. But I searched the forums and can't find it. I'd like the pitch to be normal with the tone at 100% and drop as it's turned down. I tried a setting it up tonight, at 100%, the pitch was ultra high. And as I twisted the knob, it got crazy sounding. The POD advanced guide doesn't really give enough detail. Has anyone got this set up or know where the post went? It actually had screen shots. I should have bookmarked it! Thanks
arislaf
You should put the max at 50% and dive up to 0% if you like the dive bomb sound...

ur2funky
You should put the max at 50% and dive up to 0% if you like the dive bomb sound... Pitch minimum set to 0% will give you a two octave drop. I prefer the tone knob/whammy feel with the minimum set to 25% which will still give you a full octave drop.

ur2funky
Enjoy! It's gotta be one of koolest tricks to show other guitarists. Most know about the Variax doing different guitars, but spin that whammy knob and watch their jaws drop! Plus it just brings a smile to me when I'm done cranking on that thing that I'm perfectly in tune. Cheers!
oehman
Yeeeah! I took the trem arm out of my Stat because it wasn't worth the aggravation. Now my Variax has earned another reason to stay strap loaded and out of the stand... Sorry Strat.
