liamhutch89
My gain staging is fine I've checked and rechecked that. It's not happening in the actual models or line out - I have tried sending a stereo line out from helix to my focusrite audio interface, where I've listened both on studio monitors and by plugging my same headphones into the interface. No clipping noise noted. Only when I plug my headphones into the helix headphone out do I hear digital clipping and its mostly in the right ear. Has this happened to anyone else and what is the solution? Unfortunately my helix is developing quite a few problems now it's a few years old. The microphone preamp stopped working completely long ago. All the settings have been checked over and over and its 100% the preamp that is broken. Additionally one of the footswitches is failing to latch. When pressed it just momentarily lights up. I've had total system freeze a few times too which requires power off and back on. Updating firmware has not helped these issues. I dread to think what it would cost to repair all this!
DunedinDragon
Mine has been in constant use for two years and other than one problem with the selector on the joystick and a mic preamp that was broken when it was delivered everything has worked fine and continues to do so. Granted I don't use my headphones on that unit all that often, but no other notable problems. You do realize the warranty was extended to 2 years. I opted for the annual extended warranty as well on my unit that just went over two years in February. Line 6 has been very quick to fix everything under warranty and I really depend on it every single week so the extended warranty is worth it for me. jbuhajla
Helix warranty covers 2 years from the date it was registered. Are you in that 2 year window?
PiFromBRC
Have you run a signal straight from the phone jack to either your DAW or amp?
