videoman77
Just bought this HD500x from the Local GC in Oklahoma. I unbox it, plug it in and the screen is lit up but its blank?!? Nothing displayed. So i hook it up to computer, do the Monkey thing, and firmware thing and its still has a blank screen?!? Is it DOA? Hopefully someone will see this tonight and help me! Thanks :) Caleb
silverhead
I suggest you take it back to GC and replace it with one that you've tested onsite. They seem to make a habit of reselling returned (and even defective) items as new.
daedae
I suggest you take it back to GC and replace it with one that you've tested onsite. They seem to make a habit of reselling returned (and even defective) items as new. I recently had them do that to me with a keyboard -- bad power supply the first day I brought it home, so I took it back once, and then with a new power supply it had about a half dozen dead keys so I had to take it back a second time. (Side note: avoid Williams Allegro keyboards.) Random upshot: I happened to deal with a manager directly and I guess I was obviously a little annoyed but nice enough about it that he gave me some free stuff to make up for having to keep coming back. gunpointmetal
yeah, return it! Guitar Centers seem to have one or two really helpful employees and a bunch of teenage lollipoptards who buy in all the broken gear and pretend to test it, and rebox damaged new items and stick them back in stock....
videoman77
Just took it back! This time i tested the new one in store. Works beautifully! I think this is exactly what happened! Someone returned one that was bad, and they put it back on the shelf! Oh well they did throw in the 2 year warranty for free for my inconvenience! Thanks Everyone! Caleb Side note: Got all my settings transferred over from the HD500 and used the change bundle file extension trick seems to have worked! Im playing tonight so i'll see if they sound the same.
