eirikhh
I was wondering... has the ampsim algorithms of the helix improved since release? or have the firmware updates just been added effects and bugfixes ?
shanecgriffo
i recall reading that people considered that the last few amp additions were at a new level of improvement, i think maybe from the litigator onwards.. and i seem to recall line 6 saying that they had some new processes in place to get better modelling from around that time.. i cant remember any specifics tho .. take it with a grain of salt tho, in case it was misinformed
Lelik
Most users would be ready to swear that, specially after the firmware 2.0, the tones of the existing amp sims improved. I think that Line6 has never confirmed that kind of change anyway. I have to say that in my case my favorite amp sims, and the ones I use regularly, were added later (Litigator, Archon clean, Cartographer), so I may say that Line6 improved the implementation of the amp sims after releasing the Helix hardware and its first firmware, but it could be accidental, too. jbuhajla
There are some users who have compared some amp versions reamping dry tracks and have found zero differences.

This wasn't so much related to changes in the way amps were modeled but in the way amp modeling and all other features in the Helix were processed. I believe this was just prior to the introduction of Helix Native, which was to increase stability, expedite development, and lay the groundwork for the consistency with future Helix products such as HXFX and maybe allowing them to more easily incorporate legacy effects from previous Line 6 modelers. I don't doubt, however, that simply through the process of creating new amps and effects, they've found better ways of doing things as their experience has grown in developing for the platform. That would be natural.
