randallp
Fiddling around at home I have the Helix at desk level but I'd like to be able to control the Looper with my foot. Anyone do that with an expression pedal or switch of some sort?
zivdud
Never tried but you could possible hook up a midi controller and program it to control the looper or pickup a external looper and connect to one(or two for stereo) of the loops in the helix. Or bite the bullet and put the unit on the floor.
jbuhajla
Last two pages of the 2.0 manual has all the looper control Midi CC info.

So an external MIDI foot controller should work. Unless I were going to use MIDI to control considerably more Helix functionality than just the looper, my inclination would be to buy an inexpensive external looper like a Digitech JamMan instead. It will cost you less than most MIDI foot controllers and give you much more sophisticated and longer looper functions with the ability to save your loops. https://www.guitarcenter.com/MIDI-Foot-Controllers.gc

You can even put the looper in one of the Helix effects loops so you can place it in your signal chain anywhere you want. If you use loops alot, some looper pedals even have loop file management capabilities.
