Asfiles
Hi, I already researched this but still could not find what I wanted :) So far I use my distortion pedals in front of a valve head and my modulation and delay pedals into the fx loop of the amp. From the head output connects to a load box which then connects to the PC, through an audio interface, where I apply some IRs I want to replace all my pedals with HX Effects, and use IRs in Hx Effects to connect directly to a mixer while maintaining the pedal setting - HX Effects wah, dynamics and drives in front of the amp and HX Effects modulation, delays and reverbs in the loop, than trough the amp output to a load box then back to the HX Effects to apply IR and finally to the mixer. Is this possible? (I think in other topic i read thats its possible but i cant understand how). If yes, how i do the conections? Do I have to make changes to the In / Out settings of Hx Effects - line / instrument? Sorry for the bad english! Thanks
rd2rk
If it works the same way as the Helix floor (pretty sure it does), you create your signal path with send/receive block between front of amp fx and loop fx (HX loop send to amp in, return from amp loop send to HX loop return). Your IR goes at the end. Then you pull the IR down to create a separate path. Path 1A (no IR) goes out your 1/4" to the amp fx return, path 1B (with IR) goes out the XLR to the board. If you're using lots of fx, you've probably sent 1A to 2A, in which case it'll be 2A (no IR) out to the amp return and 2B (with IR) to the mixer.
Asfiles
Hi, I dont have the HX Effects yet cause i need to know if this works first. I followed your explanation and have two doubts (for now) :) - Where, in the chain, the load box enter? Cause the ideia is to play silently and i want to use the power stage of the amp into the IR, so it must have a cable out (Line level) from the load box into the HX Effects and than into the IR of the HX and finally out to the mixer - The HX Effects doesn´t have a xlr out! You are correct, there is no XLR on the HX Effects. The output can be set to instrument or line level, but it is 1/4" unbalanced. When I use an IR I send that output to a direct box when I'm live, and directly to a high imp input on my mixer when I am in my home studio.

Thanks, Codamedia, But in that way how can i put the time based effects in the loop of the amp?
codamedia
If it's an external pedal, just insert it into the amps loop as always. If you are talking about inserting a time based effect from the HX Effects in the loop of the amp you can always insert 2 separate loop blocks on the HX. 1: Guitar into HX 2: On the HX insert the effects you want before the amp. 3: HX Loop 1 send to Amp input 4: Amp Loop Send to HX Loop 1 return 5: On the HX insert the effects you want in the loop of your amp 6: HX Loop 2 send to Amp loop return 7: Amp to Load box... 8: Line out from Load box to HX Loop 2 return 9: On the HX Insert an IR block 10: Output from HX Effects to mixer Keep in mind... two FX loops and 1 IR will leave you with just 6 effects to work with on the HX Effects.
Asfiles
Thanks a lot, codamedia. I ordered the HX effects. i´ll try that. 6 effects max are just fine.
