Hi, Essentially the channel volume doesn’t effect the overall sound of your amp model whereas master volume is exactly that, a master volume. Example: if you have a nice clean amp set up and another high gain preset in the next slot, then obviously the high gain model will be cranked up so that when you swap to the clean amp you perceive a difference in loudness. You would use the channel volume to adjust either or both to even up the output, without changing the overall sound of each model. Basically channel volume has no effect on your overall tone and is used for level matching. Hope that helps / makes sense.

"Master Volume" controls how hard you are driving the output stage of the amplifier in the same way that "Drive" controls how hard you drive the preamp, so it is a big tone lever.
