Variax 700 Acoustic Low-E String Volume

I have a Variax 700 acoustic and the volume of the low E-string is much lower than the others.  It was also producing static noise.  Any idea of the problem and possible fixes would be appreciated.

The saddle is the chassis ground, there's probably some dirt in between.

Cotton swab, 70% isopropyl alcohol,... drip it into the saddle, blow out dry with canned air.

 

If that doesn't do it, there's a deeper problem and will need to be service by a Line 6

authorized service center.

Thank you for the info.  I also noticed that the D string is a lot louder than the others.  Could this be the same problem?

I tried the cleaning procedure, but no luck.  The previous owner told me I could fix this using the Workbench software.  Is this true?  Is the software still available and how do I connect the guitar?  Thanks

Yes it can help. Yes, original Workbench is still available, check the Downloads page for compatibility,

as ti may not work for more recent computer OS'.

 

Best bet, take it in for servicing at a Line 6 authorized service center. they can check and if need be, replace the piezo.

Same thing happened to me. I replaced the Peizo and all was fixed.
