p8guitar 4 Posted June 10, 2020 IN HX edit I get the "no device connected" error message. The Helix usb midi port is gone, I don't see it in Ableton Live any more. Maybe I have to reinstall the driver? How do I do that?
rd2rk 1,049 Posted June 10, 2020 Make sure that your USB cable is plugged into a proper USB port, NOT A HUB! If you're using a desktop, that would be the ports on the back. Install HX Edit v2.92. That installs all the drivers. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!!! Update the FW to v2.92 FROM HX EDIT! FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!!! Those instructions above which are in caps are in caps because most people whose units bricked on them got there BY NOT FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS! Don't be one of THEM. 1
p8guitar 4 Posted June 11, 2020 I had my Laptop running on battery, usually I use the power supply. But even when I plugged it in again, reinstalled HX edit and restarted the laptop, the connection was gone, the helix device in the "audio, video and game controller" window was missing. Today when I started the laptop, everything works. ?!? Maybe a Windows 10 bug? I don't like these suprises...

It's pretty unlikely it would be a Windows 10 bug since there are way too many of us using Windows 10 with no problems connecting. It's more likely there's something configured on your PC or running on your PC that's interfering with the connection. Logitech devices are infamous for creating device interference with new device drivers. Just make sure when you're running HX Edit you don't have other things running...particularly when you're installing it.
