teads1685
Is anyone aware of a more efficient way to transition to "Stomp" mode to "Preset" mode besides stomping multiple buttons in order to get from one to the other like bypassing snapshot mode? For now,I have a stomp set to my amp for higher gain tones and turn it off to go from dirty to clean. Snapshots will not allow a different amp other than your main amp on the preset. Example: I like the Engl Fireball model but really enjoy a Fender model for a gritty clean tone. Sounds and personally experienced more tap dancing than necessary as opposed to stomping on the tuner stomp to bring you back to preset mode which is currently not possible. Thanks. Well actually hitting the mode footswitch does swaps between stomp and preset mode directly. And, if you are on snapshots view, it exits to the previous state (stomp o preset mode). There are many possibilities to automate clean/dirt/high gain tones...you could simply create two or three different presets, mandatory if you also need to change amp model. Crisst, pretty sure I'm not on the same page with you. Is there something in settings I need to change? Hitting the mode switch brings me back to pedal board mode. Having transitioned from the 500X to this, am used to using presets more than snapshots so I understand the creating different presets to go to. It should toggle between presets and stomp mode.
cristt
Actually, have a look at the manual and pod go at the global settings/switches-pedals. There are three options (stomp mode, snapshot mode, up/down switches) that you can tweak to better suit your style.
voxman55
Factory setting is that the mode switch goes from preset mode to stomp. But you can set it in global settings to go from stomp to snap and in snap mode you can still scroll presets. You can also set the stomp to show 6 footswitches or 4 footswitches plus up down scrolling. If you set global for stomp to snap, you won't need to press the up down together unless you want to come out from snap mode. It's really easy to use. You can also add 2 further external foot switches F7/F8 to switch fx on or off, and/or change certain parameters. Although these don't display on screen, they operate in any mode. So you could set F7 to give a gain boost and F8 to switch distortion on or off in each patch, without having to go into stomp mode. You can set them for other things too e.g. going from short to long delay etc etc.

I don't prefer that clean tone so was wanting to hear what everyone had to say.
voxman55
If you want to use two different amp models you have to use different patches. But there are amp models that will give you a nice clean and either you can rack up the gain and/or you can add a distortion. So rather than focussing on specific amp models, there are other ways to achieve good cleans and good distortions in the same patch. Sometimes using an amp you'd not thought of before can bring up all sorts of possibilities. I'd never considered using the Soldano Clean before but I saw the idea elsewhere and thought I'd experiment, and created a patch which you can find here, with a quickly put together demo of each snap. It's just to show the idea. https://line6.com/support/topic/57071-had-a-go-at-making-a-demo-of-a-pod-go-snap-patch-i-created/
