brue58ski
This can be many things. Are you able to hook it up via USB to a computer. That will make it easier to check these things. For right now check to see what your inputs are set at. Then check your mixer and see where those levels and pan pots are.
jandrio
Use the first preset on Bank 1 (Son of Plexi).

BigChas52
Are you getting audio out of the headphone jack? And yes, you can run the 1/4" or the headphone outputs into powered computer speakers.

BigChas52
Have you turned the master volume control up? Yes you can use the HD500x without an attached amplifier. It's functionally a pre-amp, and does not need a speaker load.

I have turned the master and the volume up but there is just no sound and i used this hd 500x at the shop on a orange amp and it worked perfectly i didn't drop it or anything on my way home. BigChas52
It's very difficult to give suggestions without seeing what your settings are and what you are doing. Might I suggest that you bring it back to the shop and have someone show you how to get it to work again? Also, have you read the manual? BigChas52
A couple of other things I though of: Is the tuner engaged? - There's no output if the tuner is engaged. Have you tried moving the volume pedal?
BigChas52
Oh, and have you tried plugging your guitar directly into the Fender amp? Maybe it's your guitar cord. Trouble shooting always involves narrowing down the problem by eliminating possibilities.

BigChas52
No specific settings for the headphone. You should just be able to plug it in and it works.
Charlie_Watt
Sounds like it's defective.
BigChas52
At this point I would agree with Charlie_Watt. It sounds like it may be defective. I would bring it back to the store and get a replacement. Test the new one while you're there and make them show you how to properly operate it to eliminate the possibility of operator error.
