AlbertOne04
Hi guys! I've just bought a Line 6 Helix Floor and i tried to connect it to my tiny Blackstar LT-ECHO (15W). The results was everything but satisfying, meaning that I had to turn the pedalboard volume all up (and the amp one as well) and the effects set up in the chain were very poor. I suppose it's a problem of the amp, isn't it? Could be too little to support all the effects? What's the issue IYO? Then, if I connect directly the Helix to a Mac or a pair of headphones (didn't try since the jack adaptator has just broken) i should listen to the right sound, correct? Thank you very much and keep on rockin'!
kduck
You should have plenty of volume if everything is set up correctly. Make sure you are going from the 1/4" L/Mono out on the Helix to the front of the amp. Also set your 1/4" output to Instrument level. Both of these are covered on page 11 in the manual. As far as the tone into the amp, you will probably want to bypass the amp/cab block on the Helix. As @silverhead said in his reply to your other post, reading the manual will get you far. Edit: Also, if you are using the presets, most all of them have a volume pedal in the chain so make sure you have the expression pedal in toe-down position for full volume. AlbertOne04
I've read the manual and everything was set up as you said (1/4" L/Mono) and output to Instrument level. No amp/cab block on the helix (was a preset made by me to test it) nor a volume pedal (just a wah). I can't go and try it on a 100W or so amp, trying to understand what could be... kduck
With the input pad off, instrument level out, and big knob all the way up, you should get unity gain from the Helix 1/4" out with all blocks bypassed--meaning the same volume as if you went from your guitar directly into the amp. If this is not the case, start by checking your cables and connections.
rd2rk
You might also try setting the Helix 1/4" outs to LINE, using a full amp and cabs with a mono signal chain, and sending both outs to the MP3 input. This will bypass the BS tone stack. Might sound better. But, seriously, you're listening to a pair of 3" speakers, not even in stereo. It's NOT going to sound like a 412 cab!
