midgod07
Hello all! Brand new Helix Floor user here. I'm not really into patch creation, but like to download others' patches to play in my cover band. On the factory presets, you tap "Mode" and it goes into "Stomp" mode showing all the blocks that make up the preset. However, some of the presets I've downloaded from others seem to default into "Snapshot" mode - you tap "Mode" and nothing is shown on the scribble strips and the foot switches aren't colored. The components are shown on the LCD, but nowhere else. Is there a way to get out of the "Snapshot" and into having the footswitches show the components like in "Stomp" mode? I can do it if I hold down "Mode", but it goes into "Edit" mode with the footswitches blinking. Can anyone help please?
rd2rk
In Snapshot Mode the Scribble strips display Snapshot 1, Snapshot 2, etc. The photo shows Stomp Mode, and the Scribble Strips are blank because the Stomps have not been assigned to anything. You switch modes by tapping the Mode FS. If you Hold it you go into Edit Mode.
HonestOpinion
You may also want to experiment with the various settings for Global settings --> 'Footswitches' --> 'Preset Mode Switches'. When you download other people's presets from CustomTone, for example, they may have had their snapshots on the top row and stomp assignments on the bottom row or vice versa, or their preset may only have snapshots, etc.. This may be different from your default settings. Depending on your global setting for 'Preset Mode Switches' this can affect how they will show up on your Helix. Frequently you will need to redo the preset's stomp assignments to get things looking/operating the way you want on your device. You can use the 'Bypass/Controller Assign' tab in HX Edit to quickly reassign your blocks to work with your defaults.
