I jumped into the future (new helix went from 2.69 to 3.11)

I'm super new to the helix although I have been doing my homework, but my questions is when I got this yesterday it was on 2.69 and from the start it loaded with the ability to have your 8 middle pedals with the top 4 changing patches and the bottom 4 dis/en/abling effects. The mode switch would change to give you all 8 pedals and 0 presets.

Now that I updated to 3.11 I cannot find that functionality. Now its either 8 patches or 8 effects. Please tell me they did not remove that feature?!!

P.S. I tried searching this but I am sure my terminology is not on par yet with the helix and forums.

Check the Global Settings. There are several different options that allow you to control the display and operation of the footswitches. These settings are reset to their default values during a firmware update. The update process created a backup of your device's pre-update state. Run HX Edit. Under the File menu, select Restore Backup. Choose to restore the Global Settings. This should give you the display you had previously.

P.S. This is handled well if you follow the  firmware update instructions, which include a factory reset followed by a restoration of your backup file.

Also, RTM! There's other options for the footswitches, and further ways to customize them using CommandCenter.
