JayrSkulka
hi guys, i recently got a Line six UX2 pod audio interface and i am trying to record vocals through my condensor mic using Reaper 4.5, the m,onitoring while recording is in time but when you play it back it is very noticeably out of time. im not really top notch with this software or this interface and would like to know how to adjust the buffer rates or othr ways i could reduce this latecny in the tracks as much as possible. the interface is using gearbox as its driver, should i possibly use a better one?? your advice would be much apprectiated. Cheers!
BigChas52
Gearbox should be fine, but you might want to update to POD Farm 1.12 (not 2.56). How are you monitoring while recording? You'll get best results monitoring directly from the UX2. What are your audio device settings? You should be using the UX2's ASIO drivers. In Reaper's preferences panel, set the Audio Device to ASIO TonePort UX2. About 2/3 of the way down the page you'll see the ASIO configuration button, which will bring up the UX2's configuration settings. Move the ToneDirect buffer size slider to the left as far as you can without having problems with the sound. If all else fails, realign the new track after recording. It only takes a few seconds. Triryche
+1 to BigChas Make sure your speakers/monitors, or headphones are connected directly to the UX. If no, I'm guessing you are monitoring thru Reapers monitoring function which is likely the issue.
fflbrgst
I suspect you are using incrrect drivers if it is not in synch when playing back - Reaper automatically adjusts for any recording latency.
