LarryWilliams
If I wanted to use 2 of the HX Effects, creating a much larger "pedalboard", would it be best to daisy-chain or use the second one in the effects loop of the first one? Yeah, I know this sounds crazy, but the ability to foot switch 8 or 10 effects without having to change to different presets is most appealing. So, opinions or how-to? Thanks. silverhead
I think it depends at least partly on how you use your amp with the HX FX. If you are using 4CM then you are already using one of the HX FX effects loops. If not using 4CM then you might use one HX FX in front of the amp and the other in the amp’s FX Loop. There’s no ‘best’ setup. Experiment and see what sounds best to you.
LarryWilliams
I am playing into a vintage 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb. No loop on the amp.
silverhead
Then I don’t think it matters how you connect the two HX FX units. In either case (serial vs. one in FX Loop of the other) you have to place all FX blocks in front of your amp. In both configurations your only concern will be the order of the blocks, and you can do that equivalently in either setup. Also, in either case you need to set the relevant outputs to Instrument level.
rd2rk
Running one in the loop of the other allows for some interesting routing/parallel processing options on the up-side, while adding (a small bit of) latency due to the additional AD/DA conversion on the down-side. As @silverhead said, there's no "best" here. Experiment.
