aed1421
Anybody got a great model/patch that simulates a mandolin? I have a JVT Variax and a Helix.
brue58ski
I don't have one but I have some advice. Try a 12 string model and a capo. The higher you raise the pitch of a string digitally, the worse it sounds. So you definitely need to use a capo to get a good simulation of that. AndrewSmith
I've just built one this evening - Workbench file attached (I think!) Good luck with it I muted the low E and A strings on a 12-string (actually, it might have ended up on the Jumbo body, but still with the secondary strings). I "split the difference" on shifting the pitch, so it's correct with a capo on the 7th fret - it also balances authentic feel vs playability on my JTV-69. I tweaked the mix of the secondary strings, and added octaves (wrong, I know!) so they're a bit more evident. In the past (i.e., on last week's shows!), I've faked it with a capo at the 12-fret in standard tuning, but I want to practice playing in mandolin tuning (and maybe use it on a gig before too long) MandolinCap7.whd
