erickfp
Hi everyone, No sound from my (old) Variax 300, here in the West of France. And nowhere to get it fixed nearby. USB Connection is working fine (see attached docs) but guitar is not detected. Can't do a factory reset. Questions: what should I do first, and where can I get it fixed then? My local Variax dealer says they're not doing Variax rerpairs "at the moment", whatever that means... Thanks, Erick
psarkissian
Double check the Line 6 Downloads page, check that the computer OS is compatible with Monkey and Workbench.

Thanks, but... I've tripled checked already: and the OS is Win 7 which is mentioned among the compatible OSes for both Monkey and Workbench, and working fine (as you can see in the pics above). My main problem is not about software, though: it's about the guitar. How come nobody anywhere can tell me where I can get it fixed. Or should I just give up on my Variax guitar? janjanjan
I think I had a similar problem previously in Win7. Have you checked in the device manager (C:\Windows\System32\devmgmt.msc) if theres a warning sign or unknown devices? If, then delete or disable those and reboot and let Windows re-build its device cache. Having said that, if theres no sound coming out when you plug into your amp then you probably have to service the guitar.

erickfp
I'm replying to myself in case someone in France is looking for the same info. Your best solution at the moment for Variax guitars is www.tonesilk.com (located in the North of France) Quick reply, and you can tell they know what they're talking about. But it seems most parts for the Variax 300 have been discontinued. Pity really.
