coachz
My amp learns what midi channel to respond to based on the 1st midi message it receives when in learn mode. I was sending PC instant commands on midi channel 2 today and my amp would not learn it. I monitored it in Reaper and it showed the Stomp was sending a PC on midi channel 1 ALSO. When trying to teach a midi device what channel to respond to is there a way to turn the Midi Channel 1 off ? I ended up sending a PC on midi channel 2 from Reaper into the amp to teach it but it took me an hour to figure it out. Thanks for any ideas. rd2rk
It helps us troubleshoot if you name the devices you're using, like what make/model amp? Instant Commands fire on Preset Load and on Snapshot Load. Channel 1 is the HXS BASE (default) MIDI Channel. When you change Presets HXS automatically sends a PC# matching the Preset MIDI # on the BASE Channel UNLESS in Global Settings>MIDI/Tempo you DISABLE "MIDI PC Tx". Your amp model is important because not all amps handle MIDI the same way. If you can set your amp to RECEIVE on Channel 2 and in Command Center set the Instant Commands to send on Channel 2 instead of BASE, that eliminates conflicts. Hope this helps.
