Create a third FX loop with the Stomp

So, I want to use my Stomp mostly for switching purposes on my pedalboard. However, since I am using a preamp pedal I need a third FX loop. One to engage my drives all at once, one for the preamp and one for my delay and reverb. So I was thinking of using the left and right ins and outs to set up two completely seperate signal chains and creating a third always-on FX loop for the preamp pedal by running the signal from the left output into the right input. Whether this is possible, and how to execute it settings-wise I'm not exactly sure. Figured some experts in here could give me a pointer?

Hi,

Apologies, but this isn't very clear to me.

It would be a great help to know a lot more about your set up, and what you are really trying to achieve.

For example:- The make and model of your preamp unit, so we can be clear about all its connection and control options.

You mention - "One to engage my drives all at once". Are these drives the ones inside the HX Stomp, or external on your board? If external what make(s)/model(s) what Ins/Outs does each one have?

Also - "one for my delay and reverb" - once again, are these the HX Stomp FX, or outboard? If external what make(s)/model(s) and what Ins/Outs does each unit have? Stereo, or mono fx?

I'm guessing  it's a guitar in at the front of the HX Stomp, but then at the end of the signal chain - what is the audio going out to?

A diagram of the current set up, and what you envisage, would help others to know what we are dealing with. Saying that you "want to use my Stomp mostly for switching purposes on my pedalboard", sounds like you may have bought the wrong tool for the job. There're lots of dedicated pedal board switching units available that simply do that and nothing else.

Hope this helps/makes sense.
