hvyd2200
I'll start off by saying I'm new here but not new to the Pod Go. I love mine, I find it very easy to use for my needs and so far hasn't let me down other than one of my footswitches has stopped working. My issue is in our live band setting. We don't use any amps on stage and everyone is direct into the mixer. My co guitarist uses a quilter power block with traditional pedals and he cuts through the mix great for leads. Me on the other hand, no matter what I've tried (boost in my signal chain, fooswitches set for volume boost on the amp channel volume and output level, eq pedal set to bump up volume, mids and highs) nothing can quite get me over top of everyone to have a punchy cutting lead sound. Our sound guy also says he cant bring me up much in the mix because he says my output clips his mixer even at a lower level coming out of the pod go. And I don't really use much gain on my patches. I usually try to level the out put on all my patches with the main output level at 0db. Any suggestions, or have I reached the limits of the units capabilities? Any suggestions maybe for out sound engineer? Thanks
PaulTBaker
You may try leveling at -12 instead of 0. Mine are around -9 at the hottest and that is a little hot. I think they say that -12db is the digital equal to 0db. Apologies if that is wrong, but I believe it is close. Most things I've read people shot for -18 to -12db for level setting. Just something to try. I was going to say eq boost, but you are already doing that.

Well, if he was to set it at -10 or -12, that would solve the issue with the sound guy saying that it already clips his mixer, but ironically I came here to ask a similar question. I just tried to use a tube screamer, in the POD GO, to get a boost, and it did....a little. Obviously adjusting the main output won't change anything because its, well, the main output. I guess I could lower the output of the other pedals so there is more of a contrast, but then I run into the issue of the primary sound being too quiet. Would it just make sense to put an external boost/overdrive pedal before the POD GO just to take the POD GO out of the equation for that? (in your opinion)
PaulTBaker
I have the helix floor, so I don't know if this works with the pod go, but I assign the output block to a button and boost the gain by 3db. some do it more, this works for me. If the pod go doesn't have an output block, you could do what we used to do with the HD500x. Add an eq block at the end and just boost main output level, nothing else. Of course some people like to boost the mids as well to have it stand out more.

hvyd2200
Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I'll start by duplicating my main patches and bring the output level down to -12 and have him bring me up on the back end into the mix and see how that goes. BishopTx
Have you checked into the impedance thing with the input? You didn't say whether you were using wireless or cable. When I put a buffer in front of my Pod Go, it made a world of difference. I fought to be heard before, it is up in the mix very nice now. I sent it in Yesterday to fix. hvyd2200
It is the non wireless version. I have been seeing some post about the impedence issue. I will look into that as well.
