USB Device not Recognised

Recently my Helix floor stopped connecting to my Windows 10 pc with a "USB Device not Recognised" messaged and I'm struggling to find  a cure.

I've tried different cables but the one I've been using works with other demanding devices.

I've reinstalled all the Line 6 software

I've installed HX Edit on another PC that has a pretty clean install of windows 10

Two things I can think of that I haven't tried are,

A factory reset of the Helix but I'm hesitant to try that because otherwise it is working with all my patches and a full reset could leave me in a worse state than it already is.

Try connecting it to a MAC but my friend with MACs is away until after the weekend.

The PC's do produce the relevant "bongs" when it's connected or disconnected.

Any ideas?

Craig

I've never had a reset make things worse. Since this is the primary way to deal with random wonkiness, if you're really afraid then you should be looking for a different platform. I don't mean to be a jerk, but that's just how it is. It's like refusing to go to the hospital for a serious condition because you might catch something.

Thanks rd2rk,

I know that a reset cures many issues but by make it worse I meant go from a unit with my sounds in it that I can play to one with just factory presets that I can't restore.

I do have a recent backup but if a reset doesn't restore USB functionality then I'm in a worse position.

Has anyone had this issue before and did a reset cure it or was it a hardware issue?

Craig
