Helix 3.5 Firmware recommendation - Update through Line 6 Updater or updated HX Edit 3.5?

Hi all. Reading all of these posts and excited and nervous about updating my Helix to the new firmware (3.5). I have purchased mine second hand and have not run a firmware update before. Based on what I am reading, I am wondering if I should run this update through the updated HX Edit while setting up my Mac not to go to sleep, or should I run the firmware update through the Line 6 Updater. I have a recording session in the near future, and would be concerned if things did not go well.

Would appreciate any opinions or recommendations on the matter. Thank you.

Never update before a gig. Murphy is watching!

Yes, make sure that your computer does not fall asleep.

Use a mainboard USB port, not a hub.

Install HX Edit 3.5.

Update from there.

READ THE RELEASE NOTES AND INSTALLATION DIRECTIONS!

FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!

If the update fails DO NOT START A NEW THREAD!

The plan B instructions have already been posted numerous times.

Good Luck!

First rule of Helix club

NEVER, EVER, UPDATE TO A NEW FIRMWARE BEFORE AN IMPORTANT GIG, RECORDING SESSION, AUDITION OR ANY SITUATION IN WHICH YOU GETTING PAID MAY BE INVOLVED, ETC.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

In fact, it's pretty much a rule of life in general (at least as long as digital devices are involved, but it probably even goes beyond that...).

Yes, also you could add - "FAIL SAFE - ALWAYS WORK ON A COPY"
