aaron__aardvark
I put 2 songs in my music website: "Turn It Around" is the song on top, and "Bat Attack 2" (which got radio play) is the next song down. One song uses PodXT on the real guitar, and the other song uses Helix on the guitar. Can you tell which is which? Please tell me how you like the music and how it can be improved. soundog
For your tunes I recommend trying 1) first mix the tunes so they sound powerful, dynamic, and interesting as an instrumental (mix with no vocals), 2) bring in the vocals until the words are intelligible. Try +2 dB increments until it sounds right on multiple sound systems. I don't say this because you aren't a good singer, but for this genre you want a lot of the power to come from the instruments, with the vocals supporting. If it was pop, you'd want the vocals more up front. Reference some fave songs in similar genre, and hopefully you'll hear what I mean.
Schmalle
Drums are low and not punchy. Levels are uneven between instruments. Guitars could be more upfront and aggressive. Bass sounds good, synths are great. Vocals are good, but too loud. You could listen to some band mixes in that genre - then pick your favorite and try to mix / compare towards that goal. While doing that listen through more than one monitor system and also test through headphones. You could also hire someone to do that for or with you. The weak spot here is mixing - not musicianship or creativity. A lot of potential and well worth the effort imho.
aaron__aardvark
soundog and Schmalle, Thank you for listening and replying, I appreciate it! Sorry I did not reply earlier. I don't think I got an email notification for your replies. "Bat Attack 2" uses all PodXT on guitars and "Turn It Around" uses all Helix on guitars.
