Nooxx
It sounds like something is rattling around inside my helix, when I tilt it I can hear it moving around inside the unit. Is this cause for alarm? I just shipped it across the country for a gig, since its still working I don't think its worth it to file a UPS claim yet. Has this happened to anyone? I can't have it shorting out on me during a gig.
silverhead
If there’s rattling there’s something loose. It’s a ticking time bomb before it may land in a spot that will cause a short circuit when the device is powered on. Get it resolved. If it’s still under warranty take it to an authorized service centre. If not, start investigating how to take the device apart bit by bit to find the loose screw or whatever. Or, leave things as they are until it shorts out…. which it may never do, but……
PierM
Just open the unit and remove the thing. It could be a bolt, or a bit from the XLR lock systems...or any other metal bit that could easily short something on the PCB and damage the unit. Easy to solve. ;)

silverhead
Technically yes. That's why I suggested the service center. On the other hand the risk may be low unless there are several layers of disassembly and you're unable to put things back together properly. Only one way to find out I guess. What sort of risk-taker are you?

Yep, but shorting a condenser (this is risky even when unit is turned off) or a diode, or a Sharc...would be probably worse. :)
