Why are custom tone patches encoded in PGP?

I've downloaded a few patches from CustomTone and most are just in the raw .hlx format. However, a bunch have the extension .pgp, such as VoxRocks and others from @suhr99 and others. I'm on a Mac and am unable to decode or unpack them.

Why are patches being encoded? They're like 20kb max.

Hi,

They are not encoded, they are the file format of the POD Go.

When you visit CustomTone, at the top of the page in the grey stripe, click on the box that says “ALL PRODUCTS” and from the dropdown menu select your hardware unit to return only presets that will be a suitable match.

Hope this helps/makes sense.
