EzraLaFrance
Hi, I’m wondering if getting the powercab 112+ is worth it over the 112. Does it sound the same (or very close) if I put an ir block at the end of my signal chain on my helix as it does if I load it into the 112+? Let me know if any of you have any insights. Thanks

With no USB port for updates, the PC112 is what it is and that's all it will ever be. If that's all you think you'll ever need, go for it. It's possible (no guarantees) that the PC112+ will receive an update someday. Sound might be improved, new speakers added, new features maybe. I've tried comparing the two methods and see no clear advantage beyond saving DSP on your modeler. On-board IRs are (IMO) the least important feature of the Powercab.
amsdenj
Onboard IRs are more significant with HX Stomp where saving the block is more important. If you put non-linear blocks after the IR block, say Retro Reel, or a compressor, then there will be a difference if these come after the IR in Helix, or before the IR in Powercab.
