Best DI for Helix Native?

Hi,

I currently only use Helix Native and a lot of the time I am struggling to get good sounds out of it. I have read that your DI can obviously impact this and I’m wondering if there are any recommended DIs to get? I am currently using Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2nd Gen.

I don’t think the audio interface is your problem. The Scarlett is reasonably good quality and many people use it without a similar issue.

 

Are you recording a dry guitar signal on which Helix Native operates? If so please describe your setup and connections.

 

Often the problem ends up being the level of the dry input signal to Helix Native. Try adjusting it using the Input slider in the Helix Native window/preset.

This ^^^. Here's one post that addresses this. I just looked quickly. Just go to the Helix Native forum (where the link comes from) and do a search for level. Lots of info.

Hi @silverhead I'm going Guitar → Cable → Scarlett interface → iMac... I will play around with the input signal within Native; I believe my input levels into the Scarlett are good!

Is your Scarlett connected by USB or audio cable to your IiMac? Use the USB connection if possible and record the Dry guitar signal directly (your Scarlett should provide that option).
