Catalyst "auto save" is annoying

I like my Catalyst (60) but would like it better if I could find a work around....

When you make a manual change to a channel and then go to the other channel,

the change you made to the first channel is still retained (without saving).

Am I the only one that is unhappy with this "feature"?

Is there a way to disengage this "auto-save" type of response?

Catalyst models a real amp in this respect.

On a real amp with two distinct channels with separate G/B/M/T/P/V controls, if you make a change to one channel and then switch to the other channel, will the physical knobs return to their original positions? Of course not.

If you want a workaround it requires MIDI.

EDIT: OR If you tap the Channel A or B button again for the modified channel, it will reload the saved preset throwing away the modification.

Thanks to @txfloodfor this reminder

If you use MIDI to switch channels, since each "channel" is actually a separate preset, the original saved preset will reload.

Using the FS, however, will mimic the way a real amp works.

Anticipating your next post, you'll need a host box to do this with MIDI on your Cat60.

This is one reason that whenever someone posts "Which one should I get?" I always say get the Cat100.

The usual response is "I don't need MIDI.".

Later on...
